Unipart have been sponsoring the Championship for many years, providing the motor racing public with the longest running one make series in the country. They have since been replaced by Dunlop as Championship Sponsors for this season. They actually fund championships for two formulae, the Mini 7 and the Mini Miglia. Our Miglia races in both the National series of races and the Winter series.

Organised by the Mini Se7en racing club, the National series is run over thirteen rounds between March and October, the Winter series is six rounds and runs between March and November at most of the popular circuits in the UK, the National series incorporates a round at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

The Mini 7 has a one litre "A series" engine, developing around 85 horsepower with fairly restricted tuning. Tyres are on a 10 inch rim, slicks are not allowed. The Miglia, in which our car competes, has a 1.3 "A series" engine. With our newly installed power unit, ours develops a healthy 142 BHP at the roadwheels. The regulations on tuning are more liberal in this class. The tyres are on a ten inch wheel, but a rim width of up to 7.5 inches is allowed. Slick tyres are allowed here. Only Dunlop tyres can be used.
